 Garden Club
Sponsor: dorothy.jones@carrollcountyschools.com

After many years working with adolescents, I have found that most all of them like to dig in the dirt and plant any thing that may grow. Villa Rica Middle School Garden club is a place for students who like to do just that. Our main job is to change out the flowers in the flowerbed at the front of the school by the sign. That area started as bare flat ground and over the last 5 years, various garden club members have helped to build that area into a raised flowerbed.

One of our other projects, which is coming along slowly but surely, is to plant an outdoor classroom classroom outside the media center/7th and 8th grade halls. The ground out there however is extremely hard clay, so any volunteers with tillers or augers are welcome to contact us to volunteer their time. We are also in need of funds for purchasing materials, and carpenters to build a 16x16 wooden platform or raised flowerbeds.
